I didn't know what to do for this project, I was feeling pretty strung out and was experiencing a lack of creativity. I wanted to do a video, but I was also working on stuff for my video class, so I didn't want to dig myself in too deep, because video is so time consuming. I was working on music pretty regularly, however, making beats in class, and out of class, and recording raps on occasion. I asked mamacita if she would be okay with my project being a mixtape, and she agreed, so I spent the next couple weeks finishing the album art, getting the list of tracks, and recording raps. I had a lot of fun working on this project and pressuring my cousin into rapping so I could play it in front of my entire class. I had rapped before plenty in the past, but it was never good. I wanted to impress myself, and I knew that while the autotune, delay and reverb does a lot, it was also gonna take some voice talent. Me and my cousin recorded together, and we both took many turns trying to find where we sounded best, as i'm sure all rap artists do, but this was from scratch. After a little bit, I was pleasantly surprised with the result of both of our voices. I knew that we could sound good, so I pressured him to keep rapping with me for this project. We ended up getting two songs.
