For this project I went to Denver with my Denver Digital Land Grab fam (Noa where were u?) and VJ'd in the bar we were posted in front of. I think I was supposed to generate intrigue by broadcasting whacky visuals but only one person asked me what was going on that whole time, and as soon as I answered, he said "Oh," walked out the door, and left. I didn't exactly have a crowd, and it was hard to figure out where to set up, but I did have a lot of fun, and my confidence in VJing stepped up a lot. I had a good time, and the fact that I was set up in a corner of this bar, for only a couple people to see, was actually really cool. During this set I realized that VJing could be something I would love to do for events and for live music. I’ve DJ’d before, and it was never really my thing, but VJing is so much fun to me, and while I was performing I was getting a lot of ideas. I’ve always wanted to have one of these analog video glitch machines, specifically a Tachyons+, and I think that would play beautifully into a VJ set, mixing video then glitching it as well, and also having live feed of cameras to mix in video of the crowd and stage, as well as one pointed at the projection for video feedback. This would be ambitious and a lot to set up, but I think it would make for an amazing VJ set, and it would be a lot of fun to perform something like that.
